DIC GROUP’S UNION: OVER VND 760 MILLION TO SUPPORT NORTHERN MOUNTAINOUS PEOPLE RECOVERING FROM SEVERE IMPACT OF DISASTERS

On the afternoon of 11^th August, at the “Preliminary conference summing up  business performance in the first 6 months of 2017” of the DIC Group, Mrs. Phan Thi Mai Huong , Chairman of Trade Union, officially launched funding campaign to support Northern mountainous people recovering from severe impact of natural disasters.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Tuan, Chairman of DIC Corp has donated VND 300 million deducted from Corporation's fund to support flood victims in the North.

In the early days of August, flash floods and landslides caused severe damage to people in the northern mountainous provinces, especially in three provinces: Son La, Lao Cai and Yen Bai. This is considered to be a historic flood that has never existed for hundreds of years, leaving dozens of dead and missing, houses washed away or collapsed, people plagued by hunger and students lose all their books to continue school while the new school year is coming. The whole transport system, from district center to other communes, was also separated and isolated.

In order to sharing hands with the difficulties and losses of northern mountainous people, DIC Corp and its Trade Union co-ordinate a donation campaign to call divisions of DIC Corp, DIC’s  member units, etc for support “at least one day's salary" to timely help people to soon stabilize their lives." – Launched Mrs. Phan Thi Mai Huong at the event.

This funding program, launched by the chairman of the DIC Group’s Trade Union, has received enthusiastic response from all staffs.

By the end of the afternoon of 15^th August, according to preliminary statistics, DIC Group has received more than 760 million supporting money. Of which, DIC collects VND 300 million from its Corporation’s fund; DIC Corp’s staffs contributed 1 day salary: 151 million; member units  has contributed as follows: DIC 1: VND 20 million, DIC 4: VND 30 million, DIC Concrete: VND 30 million ; DIC Materials: VND 10 million; DIC T & T: VND 50 million; DIC Intraco: VND 40 million; DIC Phuong Nam: VND 30 million; DIC Resco: VND 58 million; DIC 2: VND 12.1 million; DIC Sport: VND 3.4 million and more than VND 26 million directly donated at the conference.DIC Group’s delegation will directly visit, give gifts and donated money to people in the northern mountainous region.
